Tekirova Holidays

Tekirova Holidays – A small, relaxing resort at the foot of the Taurus Mountains

For peace and tranquillity, Tekirova is hard to beat. This is one of the smallest tourist resorts on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, with a laid-back, seaside village feel. Located at the foot of the majestic Taurus Mountains and surrounded by fragrant pine forests, Tekirova has something of a picture-postcard setting. Holidays here very much centre around the beach; a long, pristine expanse of golden sand and pebbles that stretches as far as the eye can see. Aside from that, the resort consists of a handful of traditional tavernas, some excellent restaurants, a small arcade full of souvenir shops and a lively weekly market on Saturday.

There is a range of accommodation options at the resort, from small budget hotels to larger luxury complexes to self-catering villas. While the nightlife in Tekirova is unashamedly low-key, those seeking a more boisterous night out can check out the bars and clubs at nearby Kemer – around 20 minutes taxi ride away – or travel further up the coast to bustling Antalya.

Despite being quiet, there are plenty of things to do in the resort, including diving at the popular Adrasan Caves, horse-riding, river rafting, hiking in the foothills of the mountains, windsurfing, and kite surfing. Popular local excursions include trips to Mount Olympus, the Roman ruins at Phaselis, the ruins of a semi-submerged castle and amphitheatre at Simena, and the Ekopark – an ecological park with rare plants and animals, including crocodiles.
