Norwich Airport basics
Norwich airport sits just two and a half miles north of Norwich, at Hellesdon. The current site, originally RAF Horsham St Faith, was officially opened in 1940 as a bomber station. These days it serves 1.5 million people within a 90 minute radius across Norfolk, Suffolk and North Cambridgeshire. In recent years the airport’s owners have invested heavily in refurbishing the terminal building and flight Information system, aircraft parking, new radar equipment, air traffic control, security updates and more, delivering a smooth and enjoyable experience.
There’s everything you’d expect from a well-serviced regional airport including Café Oasis, Costa Coffee and a comfy, friendly bar; the Yard of Ale. The Skylines store sells travel essentials like papers, magazines, books and confectionery plus all sorts of useful stuff that you might have forgotten to pack… and a National Lottery Terminal if you fancy your luck! There’s also Duty Free, with an Eclipse outlet selling more than 2000 tax free goodies like big brand fragrances, designer sunglasses, gadgets and cut-price bargain spirits. You’ll find wireless internet throughout the terminal and special internet desks in Departures.
By bus: Hop aboard the Park & Ride to and from Norwich city centre – the bus stop is only a few minutes’ walk from the terminal. It runs every day except Sundays. You’ll find more information here. First Eastern Counties runs the 27 bus from the city centre to Hellesdon, within easy walking distance of the terminal, every day with reduced services on Sundays and Bank Holidays. By train: National Express East Anglia runs services between Norwich and London Liverpool Street, from where you can travel onwards by train. The railway station is in the city centre, 20 minutes from the airport by taxi. For more details visit National Express East Anglia.

Airport car parking
The airport’s short stay parking is conveniently sited in front of the terminal building and you’ll find long stay parking a short walk from the terminal building with CCTV, proper perimeter fencing and security patrols.
Historic Norwich itself is a tourist favourite and there are loads of lovely places to stay in the city centre and pretty suburbs, as well as in the surrounding countryside in places like Beston, Horsford and Caister St Edmund. There’s a Holiday Inn at Norwich Sports Village, less than 2 miles from the city centre, and Holiday Inns on Ipswich Road and Carrow Road.
