Humberside Airport basics
Humberside airport is near Wootton and it’s an important national and international gateway to the north and east of England, handling more than 320,000 passengers a year to more than twenty destinations. The airport is known for regular KLM shuttle services to Amsterdam Schiphol, which fly four times a day, from where there’s easy access to the world. Humberside also boasts Britain’s second biggest heliport, which serves the North Sea’s oil industry. The airport was nominated for a coveted British Travel Award in 2010 and they employ about 700 people on the site. Estimates reveal that about a million people will pass through the airport by 2016.
Humberside airport offers a WHSmith for all those last minute purchases, plus a well-stocked Alpha airport shopping outlet. There’s a friendly, cosy bar near the main departure gates with a wide range of snacks and drinks, plus Bar des Voyageurs with a good choice of beers, wines and spirits. The International Currency Exchange (ICE) provides foreign currency exchange services, travellers’ cheques, international telephone cards and 0% commission on un-spent travel money.

By train: Humberside airport is convenient for local rail connections via Doncaster, from where you can pick up services on Britain’s mainline rail network. Your nearest station is Barnetby, three miles from the airport, for regular trains to Doncaster station.
By car: There are good road links, with the airport itself just off the A18 and three miles from Junction 5 on the M180. Airport car parking
Car park 1 is right next to the terminal building. Car parks 2, 3 and four are also within walking distance of the terminal. Blue Badge holders can leave their vehicles in dedicated spaces in car park 1.
There are plenty of international and national big brand hotels in Humberside. You’ll also find a selection of excellent independent hotels and guest houses in nearby villages like Croxton just two miles away, Barnetby-le-Wold just ten minutes’ drive from the airport, plus Brigg and Willerby.
