South Beach Holidays
Stylish attractive Miami beach resort
South Beach is one of the trendiest and prettiest part of Miami, a fashionable and very attractive 2-square-mile area on the tip of Miami Beach and a short transfer from Miami airport. South Beach holidays focus around a vast sandy beach by day and some of the USA’s most famous and fashionable clubs by night. South Beach is brimming with nightlife and for this reason perhaps may not be especially suitable for families with small children.
South Beach will appeal to lovers of glamour and style. A particular feature is the Art Deco district with beautifully restored hotels in a neighbourhood known for its lovely mix of pastel colours, Art Deco touches and neon glamour. Visitors will also find an amazing array of restaurants and world cuisines with plenty of stylish open-air patios. South Beach boasts a great club scene where models, musicians, stars and poseurs mingle with holidaymakers. Trendy cafes, cocktail bars, easy-listening lounges, jazz clubs, and nightclubs are classic ingredients in the South Beach holiday mix.
South Beach also counts itself blessed with a long wide beach with excellent soft white sand, swaying palm trees and beautiful people. Strolling the beachside promenades, relaxing in trendy street cafes and people-watching are all essential to the holiday experience! Your stay here could also include visits to other Miami beaches like Sunny Isles beach, popular with families, glamorous Miami Beach and elegant Bal Harbour. South Beach can also offer an astonishing array of trendy and interesting stores offering a nice change from the typical large American mall. The area benefits from being an unusually compact neighbourhood with a shuttle service providing cheap regular transport around the Art Deco district and the beach. You should also try to include a taxi ride to stylish Coconut Grove which is full of designer stores and yet more superb cafes, restaurants and more clubs. Visitors can access a vast selection of attractions, state-of-the-art museums and sports facilities in and around Miami, whilst South Beach is also superbly located for visiting the wetlands and plains of the Everglades National Park.
South Beach is a holiday hotspot and the Miami beach resort weather will not disappoint if you are looking forward to days lying on sun-drenched beaches. Those who might find the high 33C summer temperatures too much should consider taking a holiday anytime from November through April. The temperatures will be cooler ranging from 23C to 26C and the sun will be out for around six hours per day. In April the temperature in South Beach will begin to head over the 28C mark and the sunshine levels will rise to around nine hours per day. The evenings will also be warm making it the perfect time for dancing in the open air nightclubs or dining in the garden restaurants.
The beaches in South Beach are world famous and attract both holiday-makers and the celebrities. South Beach itself is a white sand haven where the beautiful people hang out. Haulover Beach at the north end of Miami Beach is a clothes optional beach but both beaches have an abundance of water sports activities, restaurants and shops. Rollerblade along the seafront, you’ll certainly fit in with the locals then! It’s all about health and fitness here.
The nightlife in South Beach is second to none with its sizzling nightclubs, cocktail bars, casinos and poolside dance floors. You can try a different nightclub every night of the week and still not have seen it all. This is a party town that doesn’t like to sleep, except during the day on the beach.
Sightseeing in South Beach should definitely include a trip to the famous Everglades National Park. You can spot alligators and crocodiles as you sail around this floating river of grass. This is deservedly named as one of Florida’s top tourist attractions and is an unforgettable experience.
If you love shopping then you will be in heaven in South Beach. From designer boutiques to funky vintage clothing stores to huge shopping malls, South Beach has it all. Strolling down the open air shopping mall at Lincoln Road is a shopping adventure in itself. You will always pay less for goods in the USA than in the UK so break open the credit card and grab a bargain.
There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants in South Beach. You will be spoilt for choice with the open air garden terraces and the upmarket stylish eateries and trendy cafes and bars. French, Italian, Mediterranean, Asian, and Nuevo Latino are just a small selection of the cuisine on offer.
