Clearwater is on the western Gulf Coast of Florida, 20 miles from St Pete’s Beach and 90 minutes from Orlando. A compact, unpretentious, family-friendly beach resort popular with couples and young families, Clearwater is on a low island linked to the mainland by a causeway, giving it an appealing, relaxed atmosphere. It also makes a fine, easy-going beach base from which to visit Disneyland and Universal in Orlando and the extraordinary Busch Gardens African theme park in Tampa.
Clearwater features 3 miles of fabulous, wide, palm-fringed white sandy beaches. The gently shelving sand and calm warm water make this a favourite with children and swimmers. You will find excellent accommodation and a wide range of restaurants to suit all budgets, with some outstanding seafood. Entertainment ranges from street entertainers to homely live music in local bars and hotels. A particular feature is the Salvador Dali Museum, whilst other world-class attractions to visit include the Museum of Science and Industry, the Planetarium and Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Visitors might also take in a visit to the Marina, the 19th century Boatyard Village, a walk in Caladesi Island state park, bird watching at the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary or a dolphin spotting boat trip. Or simply admire the wonderful sunsets from the pier.
Clearwater provides plenty for sports enthusiasts, with fans of golf and fishing especially well catered for. There is easy access to dozens of golf courses, every conceivable watersport, and excellent fishing from the famous pier or on spectacular deep-sea fishing trips. A minibus provides transport around the resort and ferries are an enjoyable way to visit the mainland and surrounding islands. No holiday here is complete without a trip to the world famous Disney and Universal attractions at Orlando, and the incredible African theme park packed with thrill rides and animals at Busch Gardens, just 30 minutes away in Tampa.
Clearwater is sunny for most of year. The annual average temperature is 30C. The region enjoys sunshine more than 320 days in a year. Summer season starts from April and ends in September. The warmest month is July; temperatures hit 35C on average. Average day temperature is 33C in summer and average night temperature is 18C. Humidity ratio in summer is very low. Rainfall is mostly expected in the summer but is in short bursts and is quickly dispersed by the sun's heat.

At the beginning of The Pier sit two of Clearwater’s superlative museums: the St. Petersburg Museum of History and the Museum of Fine Arts. Other fascinating museums include the Salvador Dali Museum, Florida International Museum, Florida Holocaust Museum and Heritage Village. The most popular museum is Henry B. Plant museum. It is a life style museum kept as close to its original form so visitors can experience the life style.

There is a beautiful view of the sunset from the Pier. It has become a Clearwater Beach tradition to go and watch this. A number of arts and craft stalls set up here from 6-9pm each night. Musicians, jugglers and street performers flock here which makes provides entertainment and there is a playground for children making it a perfect evening out with the kids.
In Clearwater mall there are a variety of shops available. There are shops lined in with garments, leathers, cosmetics, electronics, and so many other things. Clearwater mall has just about everything you could imagine, from major retail stores to specialty shops. There is also the countryside mall to roam. This complex holds 166 stores and hosts an ice skating rink. There are many festivals organised in Clearwater and the stalls at these festivals provide variety of cheaper goods compared to the shopping malls.
