Lake Davenport Holidays

Gateway to Disney World
The quaint town of Lake Davenport is situated in Orlando and is just 13 miles south-west of Disney World’s main entrance, giving easy access to all of Orlando’s major attractions. The town of Davenport itself has benefited from Disney’s tourist boom and there is no shortage of excellent restaurants and bars. A holiday here will allow you and your family to relax in peaceful surroundings after a day of thrilling rides and visiting the sights of Disney World.

The heart of Florida
Disney World will be the main reason people choose a Lake Davenport holiday, but there is no need to limit yourself to the Magic Kingdom. Why not take a trip to trendy Daytona Beach or check out Florida’s own tropical rainforests at nearby Lake Wales Ridge? You can also spend a day in nearby Kissimmee and see a recreation of Old Town America. For the sports enthusiast Lake Davenport offers 550 significant lakes, the dazzling choice of 50 golf courses within 50 miles and a huge baseball complex called Baseball City.

Something for everyone in sunny Florida
After a few days at Disney World you may be tempted to just relax under a palm tree in the sun on a white sand beach.  Lake Davenport is only an hour’s drive from the Gulf of Mexico’s fine beaches that will be loved by children. Children will also be fascinated by the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, which is only 90 minutes drive south. Lake Davenport is the perfect option for families who want to experience as much of Florida as they possibly can.

Weather in Lake Davenport

Florida is world renowned for being the Sunshine State and the weather in Lake Davenport is no exception. Daytime temperatures rarely dip below 20C throughout the year reaching highs of 32C-33C during the sweltering summer months. Hours of sunshine range between averages of 7-9 hours per day meaning that the days are almost guaranteed to be warm and sunny whenever you choose to visit. Lake Davenport’s inland location in Central Florida’s subtropical zone means the summers are warmer than on the coast. The year in this part of the world is split into two seasons, warmer and wetter from May to October with regular but short bursts of rain and a drier, marginally cooler climate for the rest of the year. This means that Lake Davenport is particularly popular during the winter months with holidaymakers searching for a guaranteed sunshine spot.
