Altinkum Things To Do

There are numerous golden sand beaches around Altinkum allowing you to choose if you want to drive to a more remote location of stick to the excellent quality local beach. Also the main beach has been awarded a blue flag for the cleanness of the water making safe for a family holiday. With clear, warm Mediterranean water diving off the coast of Turkey is some of the best in Europe and the local Oskenos diving school caters for beginners through to dive masters. The sea life is diverse and you can expect to see octopuses, lobsters, a myriad of fish and even dolphins.

 

Altinkum runs a large traditional market each Saturday and it is well worth a visit to pick up gifts for those back home as well as items you can't get in the UK. As the market also caters for locals it sells fruit and vegetables as well as traditional handicrafts. If you are looking for more chic shopping then an outlet shopping centre is a thirty minute drive from Altinkum on the road to Kusadasi.

Activities
There are a multitude of other activities in and around Altinkum including tennis, golf, hiking during the cooler seasons and visiting a traditional Turkish bath. This are an experience everyone visiting the country should have and it is something the Turkish have practised for centuries.

Horse Riding
Horse Ranch, called 'Pegasus' is a centre of Horse Riding Trips in Altinkum that is situated near the Third beach. Pegasus in Altinkum offers riding trips with several paths, where visitor stop by the sea where they can cool off and can have lunch.

 

With numerous bars, restaurants and cafes Altinkum is not short on choice. Being a waterside town fresh fish and local produce is easily found however if you are looking for something a little closer to home there are Chinese, Italian and the normal fast food restaurants. There are plenty of traditional tavernas or bars to choose from in the evening and whiling away a week or two here is simple!
