Antalya Region Things to do
Sailing
The Antalya region of Turkey is part of what has come to be known as the Turkish Riviera, and is famed for its yachting holidays just as much as the quality of its azure waters and golden sand beaches. Whether you are an experienced sailor and want to charter your own boat, be part of a guided tour or be taken out a tradition Turkish gullet, this part of the Antalya region has it all.
Scuba Diving
Turkey is an increasingly popular destination for scuba diving, as it is closer than Egypt and the Red Sea, making it quicker and easier to get to. The Antalya Region has more than 20 dive sites, a great diversity of fish and marine life as well as warm waters, making it perfect for beginners or the more advanced.
Historical Sites
Turkey is packed with historical sites and the Antalya Region has some of the best, including Perga; the ancient capital of Pamphylia, and the second best preserved city after Ephesus, the Temple of Apollo at Side, the Aspendos Theatre and the church of St. Nicholas in Demre. You can spend easily more than a week just exploring these, but ensure you cover at least a few.
Golf
Like all modern resorts, there are a number of high quality golf courses to choose from in and around the Antalya Region, including the excellent Belek. The climate and year-round sun makes this an excellent destination for a golf holiday or just a quick escape before continuing with the rest of your holiday.
Beaches
The Antalya Region is on the southern coast line of Turkey, making it one of the sunniest regions in the country. The Aegean Sea gently laps at the golden beaches and as it is the Mediterranean, the warms are calm and perfect for the kids.
