Accommodation Details

Located in a peaceful area of the quiet former fishing village of Puerto Santiago, the 3-star Tamaimo Tropical is a friendly, modern complex ideally suited to families and couples. Panoramic views of the cliffs of Los Gigantes and the island of Gomera are to be had from the complex, and picturesque mountains form the hotel’s backdrop. Rooms are basic but comfortable, with modern amenities and tasteful décor. There are two large, landscaped pools with wide surrounding sun terraces, a heated pool for use in the cooler months, a children’s pool and Jacuzzi.

 
Location
The Tamaimo Tropical is situated on a steep hillside that slopes down to the sea. The nearest beach is around 1km away, while the taverns, restaurants and shops of the resort are within 500m of the complex. Puerto de Santiago is a former fishing village that has managed to retain much of its charm; small fishing boast still pull into the picturesque harbour to unload their daily catch. Those interested in walking trails and exploring the Tenerife countryside should hire a car and take a drive to the spectacular Masca Valley, with its lush vegetation and tropical plants. Tenerife South airport is 45km from the hotel, with transfers taking around an hour. Families will find plenty to do in the area, including visiting Tenerife Zoo, the Ecological Park, the Octopus Aquapark and the Camel Park.
 
Accommodation
Accommodation at the complex consists of 372 bright and airy apartments set across 4 floors. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Studios can accommodate 2 adults and have twin beds. One-bedroom apartments can accommodate 4 adults and have a living area with double sofa bed and separate twin bedroom. Two bedroom apartments sleep adults, and have a living area with double sofa bed and two separate twin bedrooms. All rooms come with a kitchenette with oven, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle, satellite TV, telephone, safety deposit box, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace.
 
Facilities
The Tamaimo Tropical provides a great range of facilities for guests. The pool area is particularly attractive, with two large free-form pools, a heated pool for use in winter, a children’s pool and a Jacuzzi. Two poolside bars serve refreshments to guests relaxing on the sun terraces during the day, a BBQ area serves BBQ food regularly and a disco bar entertains guests during the evening. There is a large buffet restaurant serving a range of international and local dishes. The hotel puts on a weekly Spanish day with a paella and sangria party and Spanish lessons, as well as a daily entertainment programme with activities for both adults & children such as water polo, darts, pool competitions, archery and rifle shooting. Guests can also enjoy table tennis, mini golf and bowls.
