A lively apartment hotel with a family holiday atmosphere, a great choice of pools and a perfect location for a nicely varied taste of Tenerife. The older parts of Puerto Santiago retain a good deal of traditional flavour and you can walk to magnificent resort beaches at Los Gigantes and Playa de la Arena. Buzzing Playa de las Americas is just along the coast. The Tamaimo Tropical expertly caters for children and adults by providing a choice of lively and quiet pools. The hotel is a lot of fun for children but also provides plenty of relaxing areas for couples and groups, including an adults-only rooftop terrace. A well-rated entertainment team lays on a virtually non-stop programme of daytime activities for adults and children that continues into a mini-disco and evening entertainment featuring a typical Canary Island mix of cabaret, music, games and competitions. Economical all-inclusive deals feature a good buffet-style restaurant, but you can supplement this with an excellent onsite Italian restaurant and poolside barbecue grills. There are very appealing bars and restaurants in the immediate area and a short taxi ride takes you to the heart of Playa de las Americas. Add comfortably spacious self-catering apartments and you have a very complete package.
Location and resort
A major selling point. Superbly placed for enjoying a variety of beaches and resort centres. 500m to the small beach at Puerto Santiago and a similar distance to the resort centre. Good bars and restaurants in the immediate area. A 15 minute walk to the magnificent beaches of Los Gigantes in one direction and Playa de la Arena in the other. The older parts of Puerto Santiago retain a good deal of traditional flavour, with good local restaurants and tapas bars. You also have easy access to attractions like the parrot park and the Aqualand waterpark.
Is it for me?
A definite yes if looking for an economical holiday in a well-run hotel with easy access to a broad range of beaches, attractions and nightlife. Couples and groups will find areas for quiet relaxation. Highly recommended for young families and anyone who wants a lively hotel atmosphere with plenty going on. Your holiday here can really be as relaxing or as lively as you want.
Three adult swimming pools (one heated in winter) and two pools for children. Pools are divided into two areas: one lively and the other quiet. Plenty of space for everyone on nicely contrasting sun terraces.
