In summer, you'll experience some fairly Mediterranean temperatures – the mercury reaching 25-35°C in places like Sion, from June all the way through to September. You can also predict around 300 days of sunshine each year. In other places, on higher ground, the temperatures are usually up to seven degrees cooler. Chances are, if the weather's poor in the mountains, you can head to Sion or Lake Geneva where you'll probably be able to sunbathe. In winter, on your Valais holidays, snow appears only for a few weeks in December to early February. Sub-zero temperatures can be expected in Nendaz from December to March.
