When to go
Torrox does provide year round sunshine but the summer months are the most popular and the beaches will be busy. The weather in Torrox
You can expect guaranteed sunshine and high temperatures in Torrox during the summer months. Daytime temperatures will head up to and over 30C while evenings will be a pleasant 20C. Rainfall will not usually disturb a summer holiday as rain tends to appear mainly from November through March. Spring and autumn are warm seasons with temperatures of around 20C and swimming is still available. Winter will be cooler at 17C, which is similar to a warm spring day in the UK although there may be the chance of some rainfall.

Airport and transport need to know
Torrox is served by Malaga Airport (AGP) and there are direct flights from most UK city airports with a flight time of approximately three hours. Malaga Airport facilities include car rental, bars, restaurants and currency exchange. Transfer time from the airport to Torrox will be just under one hour and taxi fares will be approximately 70 euros (£56) per journey. Trains, buses and taxis depart from Terminal 3 and taxi fares should be agreed with the driver before departing.
Independently booking a private shuttle online is a good way to obtain the lowest fares to Torrox. Private transfer will cost around 44 euros (£36) per person based on two sharing. Car hire is another economical option and rental prices start at 90 euros (£72) per week. Car rental is an excellent choice if you wish to explore Costa del Sol; the main roads are in good condition with driving on the right.
The best beaches in Torrox
Torrox is located in eastern Costa del Sol, which is home to many beautiful and unspoilt beaches. The beaches along this coast feature fine grey sands and many have been awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness, quality of sea water and safety features such as lifeguards in attendance. With easy access to the beaches of Nerja and the huge beaches of Torrox Costa you are never far from a lively beach or a secluded little cove.
Ferrara Playa is one of the largest beaches in Torrox and the ideal place to hire a sun lounger and parasol and simply relax as the children play in the shallow waters. The long promenade features a wide range of cafeterias and restaurants serving international dishes. This Blue Flag beach is popular during the summer months so get there early to ensure a space.
Playa de El Morche is located at the western end of the Torrox coastline and this 1200 metre Blue Flag beach is very popular with watersports enthusiasts; the Scuba Doo dive centre is located at the promenade. This pretty beach is popular during the summer and fishermen can still be seen launching their boats here. There are plenty of restaurants and beach bars for a mid-day meal or bite to eat throughout the day.
Head to the coves and bays just outside Nerja for a more tranquil beach from which you can escape the crowds. El Canuelo is a stunning little hidden beach set within a designated nature reserve. There are no facilities at this beach so take some provisions, spend the day and then stay later to watch the spectacular sunset.
