Beaches
The jewel of the Costa del Sol, Marbella offers 27km of coastline and 24 beaches. From the main stretches, which are busy and lively, to quieter more secluded areas, offering exclusive clubs and bars, the region offers beaches to suit all tastes. Water sports are readily available in Marbella, from water-skiing, wind-surfing, jet-skiing and pedalo rides, to parasailing, scuba-diving and wake-boarding.

Golf
Aptly dubbed the 'Costa del Golf', this stretch of Spanish coastline boasts ample opportunity for the avid golfer, with Marbella being no exception. The region is ideal for golf enthusiasts, whether on an annual holiday or a snatched weekend away, boasting a wonderful climate and a host of world-class designer golf courses.

Tennis
With its spectacular weather, tennis can be played all year-long in Marbella. There are facilities throughout the area, many run by familiar names, found in numerous tennis centres, schools and private clubs, as well as in plenty of hotels and apartment complexes.

Horse riding
An ideal way to explore the nearby hills and mountains that make up Marbellas' beautiful backdrop, horse riding is a very popular activity, with many schools and equestrian centres in the area offering everything from scenic country treks to calming coastal walks.

Sailing
Marbella is home to a number of sailing clubs and schools, offering a wide choice of boat trips. Charter a sail boat from Puerto Banus and tour the Mediterranean, taking in views of Gibralta or the Canaries, or enjoy a leisurely trip up and down the coastline, maybe spotting some dolphins along the way.

Peurto Banus
Just west of Marbella, the glitzy harbour town of Puerto Banus is, for many, the epitome of cosmopolitan Marbella, and is on practically every visitors' list. With its impressive marina filled with luxury yachts and cruisers, gorgeous mountain backdrop and top-quality shopping, dining and people-watching, this glamorous town with its vibrant and sophisticated atmosphere offers a great day out.

Days out
After exploring the town and spending time on the beaches, admiring the beautiful landscaped gardens and strolling through the charming Orange Square, explore the area and some of its attractions. Visit the Rhonda bull ring, the oldest in Spain, take a trip to the Picasso Museum in Malaga, spend a day at the races, or enjoy a trip to the island of Gibralta for some history and a little duty-free shopping.

Parks
The Costa del Sol offers a wide range of family entertainment, with plenty of options close to Marbella. Choose from Aquaparks in Fuengirola and Torremolinos, the Zoo or Crocodile Park, Selwo Safari Park or Tivoli Gardens Funfair. Mini-golf, go-karting and ten-pin bowling are also available.
