The weather in Arriate

Daytime temperatures in Arriate will hit 30C and over during the peak summer months of July and August; the summer evenings will be a warm 17C. The climate in Arriate is warm and dry for much of the year but some rain can be expected from November through March. Spring and autumn will bring warm fresh weather and the temperature will head over 20C during mid-April and not dip below this level until the end of October. Winters will cooler with maximum daytime temperatures of 13C, and rainfall may be frequent during this season.

Airport and transport need to know

Malaga Airport (AGP) is the nearest to Arriate and flights depart year round from most major UK city airports. Flight time to Malaga will be approximately three hours; Malaga Airport includes facilities such as duty free shopping, restaurants, bars and car hire. Transfer time from Malaga to Arriate is approximately 90 minutes. Taxis depart from Terminal 3 and the fare for the transfer will be approximately 130 euros (£104) per car.

 

Independently booking a private transfer online is an option with a fare of 35 euros (£28) per each person travelling. Independently hiring a car is probably the most convenient and economical option and great if you want to explore; car hire is inexpensive with prices starting at around 90 euros (£72) per week. The major roads are in good condition with driving on the right.

 

The best beaches in Arriate

It only takes an easy one hour drive from Arriate to enjoy the stunning Costa del Sol beaches. This stretch of coastline is famous for its unspoilt, clean beaches, and you can enjoy lively resort beaches or secluded little coves and bays all along this coast. Many of the beaches have been awarded the European Blue Flag thanks to the clean waters, stunning scenery and well maintained beaches.

 

The road leading from Arriate will take you straight to the resort of San Pedro. Guadalmina is a great option if you are looking for a large beach on which to relax on a sun lounger while the children play in the shallow waters. If you are feeling energetic then you can try your hand at jet skiing and windsurfing and Guadalmina also boasts beachside facilities such as beach bars and restaurants.

 

A trip to the exclusive and vibrant resort of Puerto Banus should not be missed on a Costa del Sol holiday. Mistral Beach is one of the many famous beaches and also one of the best for watersports enthusiasts. Banana boats, jet skiing, parasailing and water skiing are all on offer here. Head to the beach club for delicious meals and ice cold drinks and then stay for one of the most exciting nightlife experiences in Costa del Sol.

 

Escaping the crowds to a secluded little beach is an option if you drive east to the beaches at Estepona. Beaches such as El Saladillo are frequented by the locals and off the beaten tourist track. This is the perfect place to spend a day away from the crowds relaxing on the sand and swimming in the sea. Stay a bit later for a seafood dinner at Pepe’s beach restaurant and enjoy the experience of watching the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea.
