The weather in Costa de Almeria
Andalucia has one of the best climates in Spain and is generally dry, sunny and warm all year round. The peak summer months from June through September will see temperatures climbing from 26C to 30C, sometimes reaching as high as 40C. You can expect 10 hours of sunshine per day during the summer months, and evening temperatures will be a warm 20C. Airport and transfer need to know
Direct flights to Almeria Airport (LEI) are available year round from major city airports including London Gatwick, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol. Flight time from the UK is just under four hours. Transfer to Aguadulce is 30 minutes while Roquetas de Mar is 45 minutes; no resort transfer will take more than one hour. The airport has disabled access and facilities include a bar, restaurant, duty free shopping, tourist information and car hire.
A taxi rank is located at the airport with metered prices of 19 euro (£15) to Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar at 26 euro (£21). Buses run from 7am to 10pm every 30 minutes from the airport to Almeria city centre bus and train stations with bus fares costing 0.85 euro (£0.70). If you are considering car hire the roads in Andalucia are excellent and driving is on the right side of the road.
