Airport and Transport Need to Know
Fly to Gerona Airport (GRO) or Barcelona Airport (BCN) – just a 2-2.5 journey from the UK. There are plenty of departures from all the country’s regional airports, including London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Manchester, East Midlands, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow and Prestwick.
Gerona Airport is a small airport, located 35km from the resort, with the larger Barcelona Airport being 60km away. Transfers are included on package holidays to Santa Susanna, and take about 45 minutes, with shuttle buses running to the coast, as well as taxis and car hire. Taxis carry a maximum of 4 passengers (larger vehicles are available on request), with the fixed rate to Santa Susanna costing around 50 euros (40GBP). Car hire is available from the airport, and is recommended, being a great way to explore the delights of the Costa Brava.

Best beach for sunbathing – Santa Susanna
The main beach at the resort is a welcoming 2km stretch, with clean sand that slopes gently into the clear waters of the Mediterranean. The many convenient facilities here offer everything you need for a lazy day’s sunbathing, from sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, lifeguards and play areas, to bars, restaurants and shops along the promenade.

Just 4km south of the resort, the lively centre of Calella de la Costa, with its extensive activities, is a short drive away.
