Levante Beach Holidays
Levante Beach holidays – The very heart of legendary Benidorm
When we think of Benidorm we often ignore the outstanding sandy family beaches that account for its enduring success. Playa Levante is arguably the best beach on the entire Costa Blanca. An impressive mile-long stretch of soft golden sand is immensely popular with the British. The long seafront promenade is always enjoyable and caters brilliantly to visitors of all ages.
Holidays to Levante Beach take you to the liveliest and most entertaining part of Benidorm. You have a truly incredible choice of nightlife. There are countless bars, pubs and restaurants plus the unique Benidorm mix of nightclubs, discos, ballrooms, comedy clubs and cabaret shows. All tremendous fun. Cheap food and drink too. Very few resorts in Spain can compete with Benidorm prices.
Parents will find Benidorm superbly placed for attractions like Aqualandia and Terra Mitica. Add a sparkling harbour, an attractive Old Town, fantastic boat trips and rewarding excursions and you have a very complete resort that really does offer something for everyone.
When to go
To experience Levante Beach at its entertaining best you should aim for July and August. June and September see very similar weather but fewer people and a calmer atmosphere. Many Benidorm veterans will recommend spring, when there is plenty of space on beaches and the weather is better suited to walking and excursions. You will also find an appealingly laid-back atmosphere in late summer and early autumn.
Benidorm is a genuine year-round resort. Winter holidays are very popular with older holidaymakers. Most hotels and nightlife are open for business all year round.
The weather in Levante Beach
Few visitors have any complaints about the weather. The Costa Blanca has an amazingly sunny climate with very few days of rain. Sunshine is guaranteed in the summer season. Expect daytime highs around 30º and relaxing evening temperatures around 20º.
There is very reliable beach weather from early spring right through to mid autumn. Spring comes early and is a wonderful time to visit. Expect long days of bright sunshine and idyllic temperatures around 20º. Mild sunny winters account for the large number of low-season visitors and permanent British residents in the region.

The best beaches near Levante Beach
The Costa Blanca is one of Europe’s most popular holiday regions, offering a mix of long sandy beaches and quieter coves. Beaches are very clean and very well supervised. All resorts will have sunbeds for hire and well-maintained toilets and showers. This is a great region for affordable seafront bars and restaurants. Excellent local buses and the coast railway make it easy to visit a string of nicely contrasting resorts.
Benidorm beaches are spectacular. The three main resort centre beaches are all great for families and have a very enjoyable holiday atmosphere. First-time visitors are amazed how spotlessly clean Benidorm beaches are every morning. Water quality is exceptional. There is impressive access and facilities for people with mobility problems. Soft sand and gently shelving water is ideal for children.
Playa Levante has legendary status. This impressive 2km stretch of golden sand is immensely popular with British visitors to Spain. There are sun beds for hire and excellent facilities for children. A hugely enjoyable promenade has many of the features you would associate with a traditional British resort…but with much better weather! Early evening is time for the classic Spanish paseo along the seafront.
Benidorm has a second major beach, the equally impressive Playa Poniente. The atmosphere here is a little quieter and the beach tends to attract a more Spanish crowd. Usually more space than Playa Levante. Also favoured with young parents as this is an even safer beach for children. Playa Poniente is also the place to watch the sunset with a cold beer or cocktail.
For a complete contrast head for the little-visited smaller coves in the resort. Near the Old Town you will find Malpas beach, a lovely spot and a departure point for boat trips. For relaxed swimming and peaceful sunbathing take a bus to Cala Finestrat. For surprising seclusion continue beyond Levante Beach to the coves of Almadraba and Ti Ximo.
