Javea Things To Do
Beach
Arenal Beach is the main attraction here, boasting a crescent of golden sand gently shelving into the sea, safe swimming conditions and plenty of convenient facilities along its busy palm-lined promenade. The coastline around the resort also has plenty of quiet coves and bays for quieter sunbathing.
Water Sports
Active guests can try a range of water sports on a holiday in Javea, including jet-skiing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, canoeing, wakeboarding, surfing and sailing.
Boat Trips
Home to a lively harbour, there are plenty of boat trips for visitors. Glass-bottomed boats make the trip along the coastline to neighbouring resorts such as Calpe, Denia and Altea, whilst deep-sea fishing charters are also available.
Sports
Javea has facilities for sports such as swimming, tennis, basketball, football, with go-carting and rock-climbing also available.
Golf
The Costa Blanca is an ideal destination for golfers, with enthusiasts able to enjoy a round in the Spanish sunshine at a number of nearby courses, including the local 9-hole Javea Golf Club, as well as La Sella Golf Club and Ifach Golf.
Walking
There are free guided walks in and around the resort, and the medieval Old Town and port area are ideal for leisurely strolls. Javea sits just outside the Montgo National Park, a reserve home to trails through some spectacular scenery, and offering excellent walking, hiking and trekking.
Horse Riding
The local riding school provides lessons for all levels from beginner to expert, and offers various treks and rides through the scenic countryside and along coastal paths.
Day Trips
For family fun, the Costa Blanca features some exciting parks, including one of the largest in Spain, Terra Mitica, as well as Mundomar, Aqualandia and Vergel Safari Park. Javea lies 90km from Alicante and 105km from Valencia - both easily reached for day trips, and there are quaint fishing villages such as Moraira, mountain towns such as Guadalest and the beautiful countryside of the Jalon Valley to explore.
Fiestas
Javea hosts two main fiestas - the 'Sant Joan' in June and the Fiesta of the 'Virgin del Loreto' in September, which typically feature plenty of processions, fireworks, dancing, music and bull running.
