Altea Things To Do
Beaches
With over 6km of beaches in Altea it will not be hard to find a secluded stretch of beach. You can take your pick from Cap Negret beach, which is over a mile long, or head to Pueblo Macarat beach just beside the marina. As you would expect there is a host of facilities and water sports available on the Altea beaches.
Diving
There are two diving centres in Altea, and diving excursions will include sunken wrecks and underwater caves. Diving courses are available for all skill levels but some of the excursions will be for the more experienced divers only.
Day Trips to Benidorm
You are only a 10 minute drive from bustling Benidorm and a day trip or two here should not be missed. Amazing aqua theme parks, golf courses and live shows are just a few of the attractions of Benidorm; it may take more than one day trip to fit it all in.
Restaurants
There are some first class restaurants in Altea, especially around the Plaza where you can dine and admire the view over Altea Bay. Paella is of course a speciality but there are plenty of international restaurants available serving a wide variety of dishes.
Nightlife
You are spoilt for choice with the nightlife options in Altea. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, and as the licensing laws are not set in stone here you can find yourself dancing till dawn. For a livelier party atmosphere take the 10 min drive to Benidorm where there is a huge variety of discos and live music venues.
Sports
Whether you are a fan of water or land based sports you cannot go wrong with the choice offered in Altea. Windsurfing, diving, fishing and boat cruises are just some of the water activities. Try your hand at tennis, golf, hiking and horse riding through mountains if you can drag yourself away from the fabulous beaches.
