There is no shortage of beautiful golden beaches in Playa Fanabe. Puerto Colon is a smaller beach near the marina that is perfect for families and children. The beach here is an immense stretch of sand close to restaurants and boasts a number of water sports options. A short walk along the coast will bring you to the exclusive Playa del Duque, a beach haunt for the celebrities and stars.

 

Playa Fanabe is the perfect place from which to take whale and dolphin spotting trips on half or full day cruises. A trip by cable car to the top of the 12,000ft Mount Teide will provide breathtaking panoramic views of the coast and the other Canary Islands. Nature lovers should not miss an excursion to Loro Parque with its sea lion, dolphin, and killer whale shows.

 

Day trips from Playa Fanabe can include Tenerife’s capital of Santa Cruz where the second largest festival in the world takes place every February. A trip to Los Gigantes will provide stunning views over the largest cliffs in Europe. A day trip to Puerto del la Cruz should not be missed and the architecture alone is worth viewing.
