Airport and transport need to know
In the vast majority of cases you’ll fly into smart, modern and often very crowded Tenerife Sur Airport, Reina Sofia (TFS), in the island’s south and about 50 miles from El Sauzal. Reina Sofia welcomes more than nine million tourists a year, so prepare for crowds if you’re travelling at peak time. Most package holidays include transfers in with the price but if not there are buses, taxis and pre-booked airport transfers to choose from, whatever the size of your group. For example a private taxi for four people should cost around 65 Euros each way, whereas a 55 seat coach costs around £520 each way, roughly £9.50 each. The transfer takes about an hour. You can fly direct to Reina Sofia airport via any number of regional and major British airports including London Gatwick and Stansted, Manchester, Doncaster, Edinburgh and Birmingham, so it’s easy to reach from right across the UK.
