The mountainous regions of Brena Baja are great for hiking, and there are footpaths throughout the area for those looking for scenic walks. Throughout La Palma, there are some great sights to see including the prehistoric caves of Mazo, and some areas of stunning natural beauty, in particular the national park, La Caldera de Taburiente, and the forests of El Canal y Los Tiles.

Spring and autumn is the ideal time in Brena Baja for walking tours to explore the island, and, with average temperatures of 22C and between 6 - 7 hours of sunshine in March, April and November, conditions are perfect for all types of outdoor activities and sports. In summer, the weather heats up, reaching an average temperature of 26C in August, sometimes rising to almost 30C, however the humidity level remains low. The nearby beach at Playa de los Cancajos is a haven at this time, and August sees the warmest water temperatures, an average of 24C, creating ideal conditions for swimming and water sports, or just relaxing on the beach. Rainfall is limited during the summer, with June to August only seeing a maximum of 6mm, rising to 17mm in September.
