Jandia Holidays – Simply Sensational Beaches

A rather upmarket region that combines the appeal of three nicely contrasting resorts. The thriving modern resort of Jandia is complemented by the traditional restaurants and more authentic village feel of Morro Jable. Jandia holidays also include the relaxing resort of Costa Calma.

Immediately at hand are the vast sandy beaches for which the south of Fuerteventura is famous. Exceptionally calm shallow water is ideal for relaxed swimming and novice windsurfers. Terrific beaches for children. Walk a little and you’ll find utter peace and genuine seclusion.

The atmosphere remains quieter than Corralejo or Caleta de Fuste. Hotels and apartments enjoy an excellent reputation. The small shops and traditional fish restaurants of Morro Jable contrast nicely with the seafront promenade and shopping centres of Jandia. You can complement beach relaxation with camel rides, golf, snorkelling, windsurfing and jeep safaris to the wild southern tip of the island.

The best beaches in Jandia

Fuerteventura beaches are widely regarded as the best in the Canary Islands. And the Jandia peninsula has the best of the best! You’ll find well-equipped beaches with sun loungers and family holiday facilities. The main resort beaches are close to amazingly undeveloped and immensely long stretches of fine pale sand reminiscent of the Caribbean.

The sheer size and extent of Jandia beaches means you will never have a problem finding a quiet spot. Extensive areas of protected sand dunes provide further seclusion and are popular with naturists. The water is exceptionally calm and beaches shelve safely into the sea. Superb conditions for windsurfing and sailing.

The well-maintained resort centre beach is about a mile long and has sun loungers, beach umbrellas, toilets, showers, changing cubicles and a simple beach bar. A laid-back holiday atmosphere at any time of day. Low-rise apartments and hotels are close to the beach, with no noisy promenade road. A very safe beach for children, with exceptionally calm water and gently shelving sand. Walking south brings you to the characterful resort of Moro Jable. Watersports equipment for hire and expert windsurfing tuition available.

Heading north you reach beautiful Playa de Butihondo and then the beginnings of the immense Playa de Sotavento. A favourite with windsurfers and kite surfers thanks to reliable winds. World championships are an annual event. This is terrific spot for watersports fans of all levels and a great place to learn due to shallow water. Clear water also ensures good conditions for scuba diving classes. Grassy dunes are the best place to escape the wind.

For complete seclusion head into the Jandia National Park and the south-west tip of the island. Playa Las Mujeres, Playa del Pozo and Playa del Congrio require more effort to reach but will reward you with a true sense of wild isolation.
