S'Algar Things To Do

things to do in S'Algar

Scuba Diving
The crystal clear Mediterranean waters surrounding the bay of S'Algar are home to some of the most rewarding diving in the Balearics. There are diving trips and courses to suit all levels and daily boat excursions to a variety of dive sites to explore a richly colourful underwater world. Several offshore reefs are visited daily that also offer thrills for adventurous snorkelers.

Water Sports
One of the major attractions of a S'Algar beach holiday is its fabulous variety of fun activities by the water. Several hotels and private operators offer equipment and rewarding tuition in wind surfing, jet skiing and half or full day fishing trips. Calm and shallow waters offer a quick learning curve for beginners and very little can beat the adrenaline rush of fun on the ocean waves.

Day Trip to Mahon
Every S'Algar holiday should include a visit to Mahon, the historic capital of Menorca.  Mahon is just a short journey from the resort. Its old quarter is full of English colonial architecture and it boasts a vibrant and picturesque harbour teeming with quaint gift boutiques and waterfront restaurants. It features lovely tree lined avenues and parks and its skyline is punctuated with dramatic church spires and charming white washed merchant houses.

Beaches & Coastline
The beach at S'Algar is narrow and somewhat rocky but offers a dramatic setting between two picturesque coves. A short walk will encounter the soft white sand of Cala Alcaufar beach or slightly further afield, Mesquida with its wide sandy bay perfect for bathing and water sports fun. There are countless secluded coves within reach for a tranquil afternoon of sunbathing that even in high season are relatively deserted.

Golf
The reputation of S'Algar as a sporting mecca is further enhanced with a fabulous championship course on its doorstep. The Son Parc club is one of the finest in the Balearic Islands and boasts pretty water features and lush landscaping. It is guaranteed to challenge even the most dedicated golfer and features a lavish clubhouse and restaurant facilities.

Es Castell
The fascinating port of Es Castell is a must during a stay in S'Algar and is one of the island's most popular attractions. It is dominated by a dramatic harbour and sweeping bay lined with fishing boats and a myriad of promenade tapas bars. An evening out in Es Castell is extra special as the town comes alive with traditional music and entertainment and bustling street markets. Explore its winding alleys which are filled with charming antique and gift shops.
