Playa de Muro Things To Do

The resort is located between Alcudia and C'an Picafort, with the main feature its long sandy beach which stretches for over 5km around Alcudia Bay. The shallow water and safe swimming conditions make it a favourite with families.

 

Activities available in the resort include sailing, diving and fishing. There are a number of boat trips to take, which run along the coastline, with some heading across to Formentor.

 

Most of the hotels and apartments have swimming pools and tennis courts, and facilities for volleyball, table-tennis, archery, darts and pool. Mountain biking, walking, hiking and horse riding can be enjoyed in the Playa de Muro area for those looking for an alternative to the beach.

 

The conservation area at S'Albufera Park is close by, with this protected park a nesting ground for over 200 species of birds. A major attraction in the area, the park is extremely popular with ornithologists, with the wetlands also attracting nature-lovers of all types.

 

Golfers can choose from a handful of different courses in the surrounding area, with the closest one being 7km away at Aucanada.

 

The wooden maze at Playa de Muro is a huge attraction for children, and is open both day and night. Alcudia is home to a large water park, full of slides and flumes, as well as mini-golf, which is open from May to October.

 

The Saturday market at Playa de Muro offers a taste of local produce, and sells regional food and drink as well as handmade crafts, jewellery, leather goods and linens for gifts and souvenirs.

 

Entertainment is mainly hotel and apartment-based, and there are evening shows, live bands and nightly competitions for guests.

 

Alcudia offers a charming old town to stroll around, with plenty of Roman history, and there are ferry crossing from the port to Cuitadalla in Menorca. Other resorts to see in the area include Puerto Pollensa and Cala san Vincent, with day trips to the vibrant and cosmopolitan Palma possible.
