Calas de Majorca, situated on the east coast of Majorca just a 60 minute transfer from the airport, is a modern purpose-built resort, ideally placed for exploring the sights and natural beauty of the quieter eastern side of the island. Calas de Majorca has 3 beaches, Cala Antena, Cala Domingos Grans and Cala Domingos Petis, and all are well linked by the Calas Express road train. The area has been awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness, with fine white sands and clear waters, and the rocky coves are great for exploring. Calas de Majorca is known for some strong undercurrents however, and the small beaches do tend to get very busy. Along the clifftop a coastal path connects the coves, and is perfect for scenic walks, offering some wonderfully dramatic views. The centre of town has a fair selection of shops, bars and restaurants, and there are a number of large hotels with excellent amenities offering comfortable accommodation in Calas de Majorca. Many of these cater to families with swimming pools, childrens’ activities and sports facilities.

The nightlife in Calas de Majorca tends to be quiet and relaxed, with many of the hotels offering entertainment, and there is a selection of bars playing live music, lots of restaurants and a couple of clubs. The town also offers a funfair, with arcade games, and a playground for younger children, Watersports are available on the beach, and many hotels offer tennis and table-tennis. A nearby zoo and tropical bird sanctuary are good options for fun days out with the children, and the Sunday morning market at Felanitx is one of the best on the island. Here, you can try your luck haggling over the locally made goods, especially the pottery and olive wood carvings.
