This place is just minutes from a postcard-worthy stretch of sand dotted with thatched parasols. And it’s a 30-minute walk from the centre of Port El Kantaoui, where shops, bars and restaurants line up along the glitzy marina.

At the hotel itself, two swimming pools vie for attention. The first is teardrop-shaped and bordered by a wide sun terrace and shaded pool bar. The second is more of a rectangular number, but it's just as big. And because the Royal Kenz is exclusively for adults, you’re guaranteed plenty in the way of peace and quiet – whichever pool you pick.

Step indoors, meanwhile, and you’ll find an elegant but unpretentious set-up. Bedrooms are dressed in cream tones with terracotta-tiled floors. Bright soft-furnishings and bold Arabesque artwork complete the scene.

On the food front, buffet meals are served up in the main restaurant. Expect home favourites like cooked breakfasts, plus weekly theme nights where you can try dishes from around the globe. Then there are the a la carte eateries, which specialise in French and Italian cuisine. Completing the line-up is a Moorish-style coffee house, where you can sit back and sip your coffee in cushioned comfort.

Last but not least, this place is home to a newly-opened spa. The coffee-and-cream interior is dotted with lanterns that cast a warm glow. And the treatments themselves are just as inviting. You'll find everything from aromatic milk baths to Berber clay wraps on the menu.
