Riu Waikiki, Gran Canaria

Consistently receiving rave reviews, the Club Hotel Riu Waikiki in Playa del Ingles has built its reputation on its attractive setting, welcoming staff, excellent facilities and top-notch entertainment. The complex consists of 5 eye-catching, white-washed circular buildings set around a large rectangular pool, with spacious sun terraces, green spaces and palm trees. Room are light and airy, with comfortable furnishings. A few minutes’ walk will take you into Playa del Ingles resort centre, which is approximately 400m from the hotel. The resort centre has plenty of restaurants, taverns, cafes and shops to enjoy. The nearest beach is around 1.5km from the hotel, with a complimentary bus service running every 30 minutes for those who don’t fancy the walk. For those looking to get out and explore the area, there is a local bus service every 30 minutes to Puerto Rico and Maspalomas. The bus stop is 50m from the hotel. Maspalomas is great for a day’s sightseeing, with 12 km long beach, sand dunes, a famous lighthouse and many bars, cafes and restaurants.

 

The hotel complex is made up of 505 guestrooms, located in five 7-storey round buildings. Rooms are bright, well-appointed and cleaned regularly. Rooms sleep up to 3 adults and have twin beds or a double bed, plus an extra bed (which may be a fold-out). All rooms come with satellite TV, a ceiling fan, telephone, safety deposit box, full bathroom and WC and balcony or terrace.

 

The Club Hotel Riu Waikiki provides a good range of facilities, with a large outdoor pool plus a children’s pool, two restaurants with terraces at which there are show cooking displays and two themed buffet nights a week, a poolside bar and a lounge bar with satellite TV. A good selection of leisure facilities include a gym, hairdresser, on-site shop, internet facilities and massage therapy (payable locally). The entertainment at the hotel is excellent, with a daily entertainment programme running for children aged 4-7 and 8-12, a daily entertainment programme for adults and a family entertainment programme in the evenings, with live music or shows.

Board: Guests can choose between room-only, bed and breakfast or all-inclusive options.All-inclusive features a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks served at selected times and unlimited local beverages served at the restaurants and bars until midnight.

 

Children: There is good provision for children here, with a Kids Club for children aged 4-7 and 8-12, a children’s pool, children’s play area and free cots/highchairs.
