Riu Club Tropicana, Majorca

A fantastic choice for a beach holiday in Majorca, the 3-star ClubHotel Riu Tropicana boasts an enviable seafront location. The complex is located in a secluded spot along the coast, with lush Mediterranean woodland behind it and a white sandy beach in front. Accommodation here features attractive white-washed bungalows in beautiful tropical surroundings. The complex is quite widespread, with some bungalows set up fairly steep hillsides, and so may not be suitable for the mobility impaired. There is a great range of sporting facilities here for guests to try, including an 18-hole mini golf course, volleyball, table tennis, shooting range, windsurfing, sailing and kayaking.

 

The ClubHotel Riu Tropicana is located literally a stone’s throw from a beautiful white sandy beach. The shops, bars and restaurants of Calas de Majorca are easily accessible by walking 500m across and esplanade of rocks, or 2km away by road. Due to the spread-out nature of the complex, a courtesy mini-bus runs around the site and back to the reception area. Calas de Majorca is a relatively small, peaceful resort with plenty of secluded sandy bays to explore. Calas town centre has a funfair and playground to keep the kids entertained, as well as zoo and a bird sanctuary on its outskirts. Nearby Porto Cristo offers fantastic shops and a beautiful harbour. The Caves of Drac, with their enormous caverns, underground lakes and eerie stalagmites are also a must-see experience.

 

Accommodation at the complex consists of 356 bungalows set in small low-rise blocks spread out over the expansive hotel grounds. Rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and airy. All rooms have ceiling fan, satellite TV, telephone, safety deposit box, bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace.

 

There is a great range of facilities at the ClubHotel Riu Tropicana, with a definite emphasis on sports. Guests can enjoy tennis, table tennis, volleyball, an 18-hole golf course, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, and much more. The complex has a huge pool with plenty of sun loungers. A non-smoking restaurant accessible up 40 steps serves a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. A snack bar serves light breakfast and lunches, and a poolside bar provides refreshments during the day. A lounge bar serves drinks in the evenings, and the hotel put on regular evening entertainment. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, on-site mini-market, games room and internet access.
