The Clubhotel Riu Bachata is located in Bahia Maimon in the Puerto Plata region of the Dominican Republic. Bahia Maimon is a laid-back little town offering a glimpse of local Caribbean life. Its main attraction is its beautiful sandy beach - voted one of the top ten in the world by Conde Nast Traveller. Around the headland you will find the Dudu and Blue Lagoons; popular for snorkelling and scuba diving, while the more active may wish to try hiking in the Cordillera Mountains where stunning views of the island are to be had. The larger resort of Puerto Plata is about 10 minutes’ drive away, where a lot more restaurants, bars and shops are to be found.

 

Accommodation at the complex consists of 610 double rooms, triple rooms and junior suites. All are spacious and immaculately clean. Double and triple rooms sleep up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (up to the age of 12), while junior suites sleep up to 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (up to the age of 12). All rooms come with satellite TV, air conditioning, telephone, hairdryer, minibar, safety deposit box, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace.

 

The Clubhotel Riu Bachata provides a good range of facilities. Two attractive lagoon style pools are surrounded by sun terraces with thatched parasols and sun loungers, which are themselves surrounded by exotic flowers, tropical vegetation and swaying palm trees. There are two buffet restaurants offering a range of local and international dishes, and an Italian/Steakhouse a la carte restaurant to try. The Caramba lounge bar with stage puts on regular evening entertainment, or guests can try one of the variety of others bars; a swim-up pool bar, beach bars, snack bars and other bars dotted around the resort. There is a nightclub on-site, ‘Pacha’, and even a casino. A huge variety of watersports are on offer at the beach, including surfing, diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, body boarding, kayaking, and sailing. Other sporting facilities include tennis, beach volleyball, table tennis and a gym. There is regular evening and daytime entertainment put on, and a hotel run Kids Club. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, currency exchange, internet access and parking facilities.
