Rio Park, Benidorm

Smartly decorated in a retro-modern style, the Rio Park in Benidorm is a high-rise hotel with bags of personality, located in a fantastic central position. The hotel boasts a huge swimming pool surrounded by sun terraces, and a nice elevated veranda with bar overlooking the pool area where guests can enjoy a cold, refreshing drink. Rooms here are bright, simply furnished and comfortable. This is a great hotel for couples of families who want a good central base for exploring all Benidorm has to offer.

 

Located in a quiet part of central Benidorm, the Rio Park provides a peaceful haven to return to at night after exploring the bars and restaurants of the resort, the nearest of which are around 150m away from the hotel. Nightclubs, cabaret bars and discotheques are a little further on at around 200m away, and the large, sandy Levante Beach is 800m from the hotel. Levante is the lively, busy area of Benidorm, with its myriad bars, clubs and shops, while Poniente is the quieter area that is more Spanish than touristy. In between the two lies the Old Town – cobbled streets, tiny white-washed houses and tapas bars. Santo Domingo Street, known as Tapas Alley is particularly worth a look here – it’s where the Spanish come to enjoy huge juicy olives, jamon Serrano and all manner of Tapas dishes. For a great family day out, head for nearby Aqualandia waterpark or Terra Mitica theme park – the biggest in Spain.

 

Accommodation at the Rio Park consists of 456 rooms set over 12 floors, with 408 double rooms and 48 single rooms. Guestrooms are light, tastefully decorated and clean. All rooms come with air conditioning, satellite TV, safety deposit box, and full bathroom with WC and hairdryer. The double rooms all have a balcony or terrace, but the single rooms do not. In the summer months, family rooms sleeping 2 adults and 2 children up to the age of 12 are available to book on the ground floor besides the pool.

 

The Rio Park offers a great range of facilities for guests, with the hotel’s showpiece being the large L-shaped pool in the centre of the complex. The pool caters for everyone, with a children’s section, adults section and expert swimmer section, and is surrounded by sun-drenched terraces. A poolside bar serves snacks and refreshments all day, and main ‘British Pub’ themed bar has a huge elevated veranda overlooking the pool area where guests can enjoy a cold drink. There are good entertainment facilities including pool tables, table tennis, tennis courts, games and TV rooms and children’s playground for the kids. The hotel’s animation team puts on entertainment in the evenings, with shows, live music, quizzes and cabaret. The 24-hour reception provides currency exchange, a laundry service, luggage storage and room service. There is Wi-Fi access available in public areas payable at local prices.
