Bank Holidays
Holidays over the bank holiday weekend.
Britain has less bank holidays than many other European countries which may explain why taking a holiday abroad over the bank holiday weekend is so popular. It is also a excellent way to use up less of an annual holiday entailment. The Easter Bank Holiday offers the best chance for a bank holiday break with Good Friday and Easter Monday giving two days off and the school Easter holidays. The two spring May bank holidays come at the start of the summer season with an increased choice of European holiday destinations. August bank holiday is peak season, expensive and often sold out weeks if not months in advance. The Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year Holiday holidays are expensive but resorts in Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean offer relief from a cold British winter.
Cheap bank holiday deals are difficult to find
Special offers and early booking discounts are rare and choice is reduced by high demand over the bank holiday weekends. The only way to ensure booking a specific hotel, or holidays destination is to book early and usually to pay the full brochure price. Cheap bank holiday late deals are difficult to find as holidays at these times start out with higher brochure prices and yet still tend to sell out quickly.
