Princess Bungalows, Gran Canaria

A peaceful, self-contained complex, the 3-star Princess Bungalows are a popular choice for families looking to chill out and relax. The crowning glory of the hotel is arguable its impressive pool – a curvy, attractive expansive of clean, clear water complete with islands and a rope bridge that traverses it. The bungalows themselves are bursting with Spanish charm, nestled in Mediterranean foliage with terracotta walls and white-washed shutters. The resort centre of Playa del Ingles is not far away, nor are the soft white sands of Maspalomas beach. All in all a fantastic, affordable family holiday choice.

 

The Princess Bungalows are around a 10 minute walk from the start of the impressive Maspalomas sand dunes. To get to the beachfront takes a little longer – around 30 minutes on foot. Alternatively, the complex is well connected on a bus route, with a bus running a regular service to the beach as well as the bars, restaurants and shops of the nearby Yumbo Centre. The lively nightlife of Playa del Ingles is around 3km – around a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes away by taxi or bus. There are a huge range of attraction in the Maspalomas area, including a water park, an aquarium, amusement parks, a golf course, nature parks and theme parks. Dolphin and whale watching excursions can be arranged from here, as can trips to museums, monuments and scenic inland spots.

 

Accommodation at the Princess Bungalows consists of 108 apartments set in lush tropical gardens. The bungalows are built in the traditional Spanish style, with warm orange exteriors and white window shutters. Rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated in pale yellows and greens, with light wooden furniture. One bedroom bungalows sleeping up to 2 adults and one child come with a separate twin bedroom and a living area with sofa bed (suitable for a child up to the age of 12). One bedroom bungalow sleeping up to 4 adults or 3 adult and one child have a separate twin bedroom, with the 3rd and 4th beds being a double sofa bed.  All rooms come with a kitchenette with 2 electric rings and microwave, satellite TV, air conditioning, full bathroom with WC and terrace. There is a maid service 4 times a week, with linen and towels changed twice a week.

 

The jewel in the crown of the Princess Bungalows is the complex’s large, attractive swimming pool which consistently receives praise in reviews. The complex also has a smaller pool with a Jacuzzi and water beds – great for relaxing. An on-site a la carte restaurant provides a range of dishes, while the poolside bar keeps guests refreshed in the day and throughout the evening. The hotel puts on a varied entertainment programme, with acts including magicians, birds of prey and parrot shows, kid’s discos, bingo, tribute acts and live bands. Sports facilities include 2 tennis courts, a multi sports court, pool tables and boules. There is also a supermarket, laundry service and internet available at the hotel.
