Faial Things to Do

As a group of volcanic islands, the Azores aren't well known for their beaches, but Faial is certainly the exception. There are a number of locations dotted along the island's coast for visitors to enjoy a beach holiday to Faial. The most popular by far is Porto Pim beach, with fine sand stretching out under the water, making it very popular for family holidays to Faial for those wanting to enjoy a spot of swimming. There's a mini market and ice cream stand for visitors wanting to cool off after soaking up the sun.

Faial is awash with wonderful natural sights, hosting a botanical garden, the gorgeous Parque Florestal do Copelo and the Capilinhos Museum, where visitors can discover how the islands most recent eruption formed the Ponta dos Capilinhos.
