Praia da Falesia Things To Do

One of the best beaches in the Algarve, the sands at Praia da Falesia stretch for 6km, bordered by neighbouring resorts of Vilamoura and Albufeira and backed by red cliffs and pine woods. Ideal for children, the huge beach is gently sloping and boasts safe swimming conditions. Water sports available include water skiing, windsurfing and scuba diving.

 

There are a range of boat trips from the marinas at both Albufeira and Vilamoura, heading off to view the stunning coastline of the Algarve with its spectacular white cliffs, amazing rock formations and hidden caves. Dolphin-spotting trips, reef and big game fishing excursions are also available.

 

Praia da Falesia has a number of good PGA golf courses, and the surrounding area is packed with plenty of great places to play, including the world-class championship courses at Vilamoura.

Most of the hotels and apartments have pools and tennis courts, with horse riding, paragliding, clay pigeon shooting and jeep safari rides nearby.

 

The region has a number of scenic walking paths, which lead along the coast affording spectacular views across the sea. Head out into the Algarvean countryside through the pine forests, lush woodlands and past local farms, and visit the nearby villages of Olhos d'Agua and Acoteias. 

Local coastal paths, off-road tracks and country trails around Praia da Falesia can be explored by mountain bike, with organised rides for all levels of experience available too.

 

The neighbouring towns of Vilamoura and Albufeira are well worth a visit, and the capital, Faro, and the market town of Loule are good day trips.
