Islantilla Holidays
A relaxing beach resort
Islantilla, a modern purpose-built resort developed in the early ‘90’s, is a relaxing beach resort, perfect for both golf and nature lovers. Situated on the Costa de la Luz (the Coast of Light), on the western part of Andalusia, and close to the Portuguese border, Islantilla has been established on a relatively unspoilt and tranquil part of the coastline, offering a peaceful alternative to the busier Spanish resorts, with lots of amenities and some charming small towns to visit nearby.
Relax on the white sandy beach
The white sands of Islantilla stretch for 2km, backed by sand dunes and pines. Awarded an EU Blue Flag award, the beach is wide with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, and a pedestrian promenade stretches behind it, lined with palm trees. Watersports in Islantilla include wind-surfing, kite-surfing, diving, canoeing and sailing, and fishing trips are also available. The resort offers some beachfront hotels, with a number of relatively low-rise apartment complexes found just behind the beach, and the commercial centre on the main street in Islantilla houses cafes, restaurants, supermarket, shops and a cinema. The coastline of the Coast de la Luz stretches for miles, and there are many other great sandy beaches to choose from, including the central Isla Cristina, la Casita Azul and La Antilla.
Home to a championship golf course
Islantilla is well-known for its’ fabulous 27-hole championship golf course, one of the best in the area. Other activities found in Islantilla include mountain biking, hiking, horse-riding and tennis. The many towns and villages inland give visitors a taste of real Andalucian culture, with places such as Lepe, a traditional town known as the strawberry capital of Spain, and Ayamonte, with its’ old town and lively market, making interesting day trips. Islantilla has been carefully developed to maintain and support the surrounding areas of natural beauty, including the protected salt marshes found either side of the resort, and just an hour away from the resort is the National Park, Coto de Donana, one of the most important in Spain.
Islantilla all inclusive holidays
Ideal for a relaxing break on the Costa de la Luz, all-inclusive Islantilla holidays focus on comfort, convenience and choice - with guests able to do as much, or as little, as they choose, for just one fixed price. It's a great alternative to self-catering holidays and villa holidays in the Algarve, with all-inclusive offers to Islantilla allowing for a luxurious base where both leisurely sunbathing can be enjoyed, as well as various energetic sports and recreation - all for no additional cost.
Islantilla weather
Islantilla is a modern development on the Costa de la Luz in western Andalusia, located on the border of Portugal. The resort enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with 300 days of sunshine each year and an average annual temperature of 22C. Due to its location facing the Atlantic Ocean, the climate of Islantilla can seem more comfortable than other areas in southern Spain, thanks to the coastal breezes, making it a popular destination for sports enthusiasts and golfers.
