Visit the fascinating historical sights
Estoi is most famous for the archaeological site of the Milreu Roman ruins. Dating back to the third century, the site shows the ruins of a luxury villa, with clearly defined rooms including the Roman baths, and numerous beautifully preserved mosaics and tiles found throughout. This large elegant country house, constructed in a Rococo style, has a very grand interior, and the exterior is covered with beautiful decorative tiles. The multi-tiered gardens were designed in a Baroque fashion, and are full of lakes, stairways and marble statues.
