Virgin Holidays Expands Cruise Operations
Virgin Holidays has expanded its interest in the cruise holidays sector with the takeover of Fast Track Holidays takeover for an undisclosed sum. Virgin Holidays expects the move to grant them at least a 10% cruise market share over the next 24 months. The takeover is part of a strategic decision to speed up Virgin’s growth in the cruise market.
Fast Track was established in 2000 and offers cruises departing from ports all over the world, including the UK. The company, which employs 80 staff, is set to trade as part of Virgin Holidays with a name change scheduled for later in the year. Virgin Holidays Managing director Amanda Wills said:
"We have seen impressive and consistent growth in our cruise programme, and have been assessing companies in the sector that would be suitable for integration into our business”.
“Fast Track fitted our criteria, particularly in terms of its level of specialisation and standing within the cruise sector. We look forward to bringing this proposition to our Customers and adding the "Virgin touches" to the cruising choices available to them".
