TUI Summer Revenue Boost
TUI AG claims that forecasts for a successful summer are currently on track with a reported 2.8% rise in sales. There has also been a 7.8 rise in terms of customer numbers compared to 2006.
However, TUI has also stated that due to difficult market conditions throughout the UK and Ireland, sales in the Northern European sector have faltered year on year. According to TUI, First Choice Holidays is also faring well despite the difficult UK market at present. Holidays at First Choice have enjoyed a 4% rise in terms of booked sales, whilst in terms of customer numbers there has also been a small increase of 1%.
TUI Travel has also announced that sales of activity holidays at First Choice have also been on the rise throughout summer with revenues up by 5%. The companies have recently published a prospectus for their planned merger.
