Travellers Planning More Holidays In 2009
A report from Travelsupermarket.com suggests that the average number of holidays people are planning has increased from 1.5 in 2008, to 1.8 in 2009.
According to report from Travelsupermarket.com, almost half of all Brits are currently reviewing their 2009 holiday plans, with an expected 18% looking for cheaper holidays whilst 11% are planning just one short break. However, up to 28% of those surveyed claim that despite the current financial climate, they will not be making any changes to their holiday plans.
Bob Atkinson went on to say that he believes the type of holidays people will take, as well as the destinations they will visit, are factors which are set to change quite rapidly in 2009. Short breaks in the UK, ski holidays and all inclusive holidays were all listed in the report as good prospects for the coming year. Atkinson also cited the strength of the Euro as a prime factor in growth of Turkey, Bulgaria, Egypt and other North African countries as popular holiday destinations.
The top ten value destinations for 2009 suggested by travelsupermarket.com are the UK, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Thailand, Iceland, Morocco, Bulgaria, South Africa and Canada.
