Travel Suppliers Keen on Ebay Link-up
Several travel industry suppliers are eager to distribute their products through online auctioneer eBay, following initial reports that the site is in the process of revamping its travel offering, however, the overhaul of eBay’s strategy for the travel sector is yet to be confirmed by the online auction giant.
Michael Hughes, head of sales and marketing for Cultuzz Media, the main accommodation provider to eBay, is in the process of building a dynamic packaging function for the online auction site, and claims that several suppliers have expressed interest in listing their products on the site. "I have been inundated with interest from the market,” Hughes said.
Suppliers reportedly include a US-based holiday rental company with 1,000 properties, a major hotel chain and a number of airlines. Hughes is set to meet eBay representatives at their headquarters in what has been described as a "global travel strategy" meeting.
