American Airlines
The goliath USA flight provider American Airlines has stated it will be the first airline in the US to provide branded handheld devices on its planes for in-flight entertainment. The company has ordered 6,000 Samsung Galaxy tablets which will be for the use of passengers in premium cabins on particular flight routes later in 2011.

Carnival Corporation & plc
Carnival Corporation & plc claims that conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, coupled with the earthquake in Japan, will cost the company an additional $0.15 per share for the second half of the year, and increases in fuel prices will cost the company around $0.05 per share. These additional costs will add up to about £160m.

Airbus
Airbus has recently announced innovative, high-tech ideas for how air travel may look in 2050, including a transparent plane. The aircraft manufacturer says cabins might be replaced in favour of ‘zones’, each with a specific function. For example, there could be a relaxation zone in the front, a work zone in the back, and a bar for socialising, as well as the opportunity to play virtual golf or participate in interactive conferences.
