Thomas Cook have received a booking worth more than £25,000 from 49 residents of one street.

Haverfordwest Thomas Cook netted the booking when the close-knit residents of Coronation Avenue, in Haverfordwest, West Wales, booked a stay en masse at a hotel in San Antonia, Ibiza.

Street Resident Paul John told The Sun newspaper the idea came during a street party: “Someone suggested that we go away together. I thought it was a great idea — we are all great friends here.
‘It started off with six or seven of us but the word spread and the numbers grew.’

The neighbours went on holiday last week after having spent around £500 each on the booking.
John went on to say that the Thomas Cook staff ‘thought it was a wind-up when they saw we were all from the same street’.

He states they had already started making plans to go away again next year and expect the number in the group to rise after other residents had voiced and interest.

On top of already featuring in national newspapers, the neighbours are also due to appear on a number of TV and radio shows, including ITV1’s Morning Show, Daybreak, Radio 5 Live and Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show.

Store manager at Thomas Cook's Haverfordwest branch, Suzanne Williams, said: ‘This is a lovely story of friends getting away together. To have 49 going away on the same booking is rare but we were only too happy to help. The booking itself is the largest our store in the town has ever taken.’
