‘Rip-off’ extra charges to be banned, according to the Mirror
The Mirror newspaper has reported that ‘Rip-off’ additional charges for airline passengers could be banned across Europe. Siim Kallas, European Commission vice-president and transport commissioner, is examining air passenger rights and is considering action following a written demand for a better deal for passengers by Brian Simpson, MEP and chairman of the EU transport committee.
 
1970’s package holidays
The BBC has announced that it would like to hear from people who worked in the package holiday industry in the 1970’s and people who have memories of going on a 1970’s package holiday, as part of a new social history series to be presented by Melvyn Bragg. Superbreak launches new London brochure
The short holiday provider Superbreak has planned the launch of its 2011-12 first edition London brochure to coincide with the Royal Wedding, to enable agents to capitalise on coverage of the event. The brochure features 40 new hotels and new West End shows such as Shrek the Musical.
