Airbus Confirms A380 Order Delays - Tue. 13 May. 2008
Airbus has confirmed that airlines may have to wait longer than originally expected for orders of its A380 jets.
Legoland Signs Up For Dubailand - Fri. 09 May. 2008
Dubai is busy constructing the largest collection of theme parks in the world as part of a $60 billion project. This week, Legoland became the latest to announce its inclusion sign up for Dubailand, the desert based entertainment complex attraction featuring theme parks and attractions.
Jet2 Launches New York Flights - Fri. 09 May. 2008
Low cost airline Jet2.com is to go transatlantic, with the announcement that flights to New York have now gone on sale. Flights from Leeds Bradford airport will take advantage of the new route which commences in November, as part of an initial four services.
British Airways has reported a decline in traffic during the month of April. The chaotic opening of Terminal 5 at Heathrow combined with difficult market conditions resulted in a 7% decrease in passenger numbers from April 2007.
Last year’s merger between Thomson and First Choice, resulting in the creation of Tui travel, has cut first-quarter losses for Tui as a result of the deal and seen turnover rise by 24% to €5.1 billion (£4bn).
Ryanair traffic Grows By 15% - Tue. 06 May. 2008
In April 2008, Ryanair experienced a 15% increase in traffic year on year by carrying 4.72 million passengers, as appose to the 4.11 million a year earlier.
In the lead up to summer, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is warning that the expected 20 million consumers on ‘do-it-yourself’ holidays this year could be at financial risk. The CAA warn that holidaymakers who themselves package together flights and accommodation from different suppliers will not be covered under the CAA’s Air Travel Organiser’s Licensing (ATOL) financial protection scheme.

Ryanair Increases Baggage Fees - Tue. 29 Apr. 2008
Ryanair is to further increase charges for checking in bags as the Irish carrier attempts to encourage more passengers to fly with hand luggage only.
