Mariners Club, Majorca

The 3-star Mariners Club hotel is an incredibly picturesque complex built in the style of a south Italian villa. Immaculately kept gardens dotted with swaying palm trees and trailing bougainvillea surround a large pool with water features and a smaller paddling pool for kids. Reviews frequently praise the friendly staff, clean rooms and close proximity to the gorgeous Alcudia beach. Rooms are bright, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The hotel provides plenty of entertainment, include daytime activities for the kids and evening entertainment including bingo, live music, regular shows, tribute acts, a ‘reptile extravaganza’ and much more. All in all a fantastic choice for families or couples looking for an affordable Majorcan holiday.

 

The hotel enjoys a peaceful location in Alcudia – quiet enough to ensure a good night’s sleep, but also conveniently close to the resort’s main attractions. The impressive golden sands of Alcudia beach are around a 10 minute walk (900m away), and the Port of Alcudia, with its brightly coloured bobbing boats overlooked by cafes and restaurants, is around a 25 minute walk or 5 minutes by bus. You can walk to the quaint cobbled streets and tavernas of the Old Town in about 45 minutes, but a taxi will only take around 10. One of the most popular trips to try in the area is to the spectacular Caves of Drac, while the hotel has a large waterpark practically on its doorstep.

 

Accommodation at the Mariners Club hotel consists of 100 apartments set in attractive Tuscan villa style buildings. Rooms are simple, airy and bright. Studios have 2 sofa beds and an additional bed, and sleep up to 3 people. One-bedroom apartments have a lounge area with 2 sofa beds and a separate twin bedroom, and sleep up to 4 people. All rooms come with a kitchenette with microwave, TV, air conditioning, safety deposit box, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace. There is a maid service twice a week, with towels changed twice a week and linen changed once a week.

 

The hotel provides a decent range of facilities for guests. The highlight of the hotel is arguably the incredibly attractive pool area, which provides a lovely spot to while away the hours in the sun. A large free-form pool and separate kids paddling pool is surrounded by sun terraces and tropical gardens. Guests can take meals at the hotel’s buffet restaurant, and there is also an a la carte menu available as well as a snack bar. An excellent evening entertainment programme is run by the hotel which receives regular praise in reviews. Children’s entertainment is put on in the day, and the kids also have a playground to enjoy.
