St Pauls Bay Things To Do

things to do in St Pauls Bay
Oawra
The lovely, rocky Qawra area extends south from Bugibba, eventually joining up with Salina Bay. Very popular with tourists, Oawra is packed with restaurants, bars and nightclubs. No beach, but you’ll have great fun sunbathing, swimming and diving from the warm, smooth rocks!

Salt Pans in Salina bay
The salt pans of Salina Bay, at the entrance to the Qawra, have produced sea salt for many centuries and are still in working order today, an odd sight.

Boat Trips
There are plenty of places on St Pauls Bay, where you can pick up a boat trip to lovely Comino and the magnificent Blue Grotto.

Meditereana Park
Take a trip to nearby Meditereana park, which runs special dolphin, sea lion and parrot (yes, parrot!) shows, highlighting these clever animals’ skills in good, clean conditions. You can even swim with the dolphins.

Nightlife
Head for Oawra and you’ll find all the clubs, restaurants, shops and bars you could need to keep you entertained. Take a stroll and watch the world go by in the twinkling moonlight.

Qawra watch tower
This fantastic monument, built way back in 1637, sits at the head of St. Paul's Bay and is worth a visit if you’re interested in the area’s turbulent and often violent history. Today, while the fabric of the building remains, it has been converted into a restaurant complete with a swimming pool!

Cinema
Head for Malta’s first modern entertainment complex, The Empire cinema on the road to Plazza tal-Bajja in Bugibba. It is opened from 11 to 11 and has four screens, a lovely café, bars and a sweet shop.
