Weather in Marsascala - Mediterranean climate on Malta's south-east coast
Marsascala lies on the south-east coast of Malta, and experiences a typically-Mediterranean climate. The resort sees dry hot summers and mild rainy winters, with most visitors to Marsascala arriving during the spring, summer or autumn months, when the temperatures are high and there is plenty of continuous sunshine. The average annual temperature in the resort is 20C.
Marsascala Weather - Warm springs and hot summers, dry and sunny
Spring sees warm weather in Marsascala, with April and May experiencing highs of 18C - 22C, and the sun shining for 7 - 8 hours each day. In the early summer, June highs reach 25C, and by July and August, the resort is basking in 30C heat, with around 12 hours of sunshine each day. This very hot weather is ideal for relaxing along the seafront, enjoying leisurely lunches along the promenade, indulging in water sports such as scuba-diving, and visiting the local beaches at St. Thomas. The heat is tempered by the cooling winds that blow across the island, however, and the humidity is high but not unbearable. The spring and summer sees limited rainfall, with April receiving 20mm, and from May to August, the resort experiences less than 10mm each month. Sea temperatures during the spring remain chilly, with the waters of the Mediterranean hovering around 17C in May, rising to 21C by June, and reaching temperatures of up to 26C in the height of the summer.

Autumn remains warm and sunny in Marsascala, with September and October experiencing highs of 28C and 24C respectively, and at least 7 hours of daily sunshine. By November the daytime temperature is 20C, dropping to 15C during the coolest months of January and February. Winters see a maximum of 5 hours of sunshine each day, and increased rainfall. November to January is the rainiest period in Marsascala, with December being the wettest month - receiving 99mm of rainfall.
