Town
Visitors to Gharb choose the village because of its rural charm, and the historic town, with its traditional stone buildings and unique carved balconies, offers an insight into the island's authentic way of life. There is a Baroque church, a village square and a few bars, shops and restaurants to go to and enjoy the local food and drink, but in general the village provides a quiet and tranquil base for a holiday in Gozo.
 
Beaches
Nearby beaches include the sandy stretches at Ramla and Marsalforn, and the rocky coast at Dwerja. Water sports available at the beach resorts include windsurfing, surfing, paddleboats, sailing, jet skiing and water skiing. Fishing trips run along the coast and there are sailing cruises available around the island.  
 
Scuba Diving
Some of the best diving in the Mediterranean can be found around Gozo, and whilst on holiday in Gharb there are some spectacular dive sites to visit, including the best-known and highly-rated 'Inland Sea' at Dwejra.  
 
Walking & Hiking
The tranquil village of Gharb attracts nature-lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, and the surrounding countryside boasts a host of trails and tracks to explore, in addition to the winding coastal paths to follow. Head out for a leisurely stroll or more strenuous hike, and discover hidden villages, charming Baroque churches and crumbling stone farmhouses that dot the landscape.
 
Biking & Horse Riding
Another great way to explore the area is by bike or on horseback, both of which are available in the area. Venture out through the rolling green pastures or head for one of the cliff paths, and discover marvellous views and a wealth of charming scenery on your ride. 
 
Crafts
Visit the Ta'Dbiegi Crafts Village to watch as local craftsmen and women show their skills at glass-blowing, lace making and weaving. There's plenty to buy here, and local souvenirs include hand-made sweaters, glass, lace and filigree work and ceramics.
 
Museums & Monuments
This is said to be the site where a local woman heard the voice of the Virgin Mary back in 1883, the shrine at Ta Pinu Basilica attracts scores of pilgrims even today. There are two museums in town, including the Gharb Folklore Museum, which displays antique artefacts in an 18th-century house.
