The beaches in Ghammar are a combination of little pebble coves and nearby sandy beaches. The Mediterranean waters are always warm during the summer and water activities are a popular way to spend the day.

Diving in Ghammar is very popular and Gozo is an island famed for its spectacular dive sites. There are several dive centres on the island, and they can even have beginners diving within a very short space of time. Diving excursions will take in underwater caves and amazing sunken wrecks.

A visit to Victoria from Ghammar should be on your list of things to do. Make sure to visit the market that is held every morning in the main square. Don’t forget to visit the ancient citadel and the Cathedral of Assumption.

 

There is no better way to explore the coastline of Gozo and Malta than from the deck of yacht. There are excursions that can be booked from Ghammar. Long and short trips spent sailing around the islands are a great way to spend the day and see some of the sights.

The surrounding countryside is excellent if you are a fan of walking and hiking. A trek up Ghammar Hill just as the sun is setting and the moon is rising is one sight worth seeing. Cycling is another excellent way to view the surrounding countryside and gives you the chance to stop off at the little villages such as Gharb where the village square is waiting to be photographed.
