Swimming and Snorkelling
Swimming and snorkelling in Comino is a major draw for holiday-makers and the Blue Lagoon is a must for water lovers. Located between Comino and the islet of Kemmunett, the Blue Lagoon is a stretch of crystal clear, turquoise water, ringed by white, sandy beaches. One of the most beautiful spots on the Maltese islands, the Blue Lagoon does get busy during the summer but during the winter it is quiet enough that you may think you have found your own deserted island.

Historical Sights
Historical sights in Comino include St Mary’s Tower that was built in 1618 to protect the island from invasion. Perched on the edge of Comino’s high cliffs, and with the turquoise sea and Blue Lagoon in the background, St Mary’s Tower has one of the most dramatic and beautiful backdrops that photography enthusiasts will love.

Diving
Diving in Comino turns into a sublime experience thanks to the warm, turquoise waters, stunning scenery and secluded coves; the Maltese islands attract 50,000 water sports enthusiasts every year. The Santa Marija Cave is a very popular dive site, where you can dive among shoals of bream. The dive site is not accessible by land but the diving centres on Gozo such as Moby Dives and Gozo Aqua Sports will organise excursions to the site.

Trips to Malta and Gozo
Boat trips to Comino from the nearby islands of Malta and Gozo occur frequently during the day. The Comino Hotel’s own boat will ferry guests and non-guests between Cirkewwa in Malta, and Mgarr Harbour in Gozo to Comino’s San Niklaw bay. There is also a Midas Shuttle service from Cirkewwa to the Blue Lagoon leaving every hour from 9am to 5pm making the islands accessible for a day out, or for a stop over if you wish to explore further.

Comino Hotels and Bungalows
There is only one hotel on Comino and it is perfect if you are seeking isolation. The hotel boasts water sports facilities that include diving and windsurfing and there are also ten tennis courts to choose from as well as a fully equipped gym, restaurant and bar. If you are taking a trip from Malta or Gozo and decide to stay over you can rent one of the hotel’s detached bungalows in Santa Marija Bay.
